  31. The man most directly responsible for this twaddle was Alastair Murray, who
  32. did thus comment on Mainly for Chris Hodges on the night of 19-Sep-97:
  33. -> When using the AMCAF disk accesing commands, such as Examine Dir,
  34. -> Examine Next$ etc. I've found a problem.
  35. -> I first noticed it using the Fsel program in the AMCAF examples but
  36. -> now its become a big problem.
  37. -> For some strange reason, if you don't set the Set Buffer to a high
  38. -> number then it all messes up. Read a directory more than once and all
  39. -> sorts of files will be randomly missed out.
  40. -> Now I've obviously tried just having a large Set Buffer at the start

  42. -> uses a very big set buffer as it is. And even when it starts out OK,
  43. -> after a while of variables being shifted here and there, the file

  48. I converted my mailinglist manager disk access to the AMCAF extension
  49. commands,
  50. andd havent experienced any problems whatsoever with it. However, i noticed a
  51. problem between the AMCAF and JD extensions, when commands from them both are
  52. used, but thats all.

  54. Try a simple, 2 line prrogram to read in a dir and print the files to
  55. screen/file and you'll see the command works ok, even on a low buffer.

  57. Did you set the file filter to all, or just a format where it would skip files
  58. if the criteria didnt match?
